Magazine Cover Conventions Blog Reflection
THE PROCESS
The process of this magazine was different than the other projects. I didn't know how to use the program we were given, so I had to learn step by step how to use the tools and add text and color, etc. The assignment was to take a photo and use it to make a magazine cover with specific requirements. I decided to use the kids' playground for the preschoolers at my school as my cover image. It had the most color and character than my other options.I wanted to use coverlines that are attention-grabbing and relate to my magazine genre, which is advice/lifestyle. I decided to go with a vibe that offers tips and facts for parenting. I then copied a random barcode for my magazine and a puff that would attract little kids' attention, 'FREE STICKERS INSIDE!!"
CHALLENGES
Some challenges I faced was the difficulty in finding a good location to take a photo at our school. I wanted to get action, but nothing was really going on. So, once I chose my photo, it was hard to think of a good topic that I could write about.

SUCESSES
I now know how to use a new editing platform, which is extremely beneficial for the future if I need it. I also learned some critical thinking skills to think outside the box to meet certain criteria. Even though I am doing the movie opening and not the magazine cover, I now understand the fundamental steps to create one and how to adapt to new learning curves. If I were to do this assignment again, I hope I have the opportunity to take a better photo or be assigned a specific prompt so I would have inspiration.
